Ladybirds are leaving

When "time" was called at the exhibition yesterday there was a spontaneous round of applause, celebrating the huge effort and energy that had gone in to it.

We extend our sincere thanks to ...

The outstanding and enthusiastic team who presented our work:
Dr Helen Roy, Dr Remy Ware, Dr Lori Lawson Handley, Dr Alison Thomas, Dr Judith Pell, Dr Jason Baverstock, Trish Wells, Richard Comont, Bjorn Beckmann, LJ Michie, Emma Rhule, Cathleen Thomas, Joe Burling, Pete Brown, Trevor James, Mandy Henshall,

Our dedicated supporting staff who helped get it all together including:
Kate Groves, Jenni Williams, Heather Lowther, Barnaby Smith, Nicky Seymour,

Our generous sponsors and the organisations we work for:
NERC, CEH, Rothamsted Research, Cambridge University and Peterhouse College, Hull University, Anglia Ruskin University, NBN, Microsoft, Leica, Field Studies Council

Then, randomly:
Katherine of the Royal Society who told me off on the way in but let me kiss her on the way out,
The friendliest security ever,
Kieran and Alice for taking us to the Bog Down in the Valley-O,
And everyone who took a minute to look at a ladybird.

In the picture, LJ entertains the crew after the show with a ladybird clog dance. Costume by Trish.

The ladybird Team have had

The ladybird Team have had the most magical week at the Royal Society - meeting so many people and being looked after so well by all at the Royal Society. Thank you to the Royal Society, our sponsors and all who took the time to come and chat to us.

One person not mentioned in the blog entry above is the blogger JIM BACON - the team cannot extend their thanks enough to Jim. He played a pivotal role in organising us, the ladybirds and the exhibit. An absolute star. THANK YOU JIM!
