Hungry for answers? Grill some big fish at the Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition 2009

Grill some big fish

The 2009 Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition is now over - but you can still enjoy the exhibition online.

We’ve got over 20 fascinating, diverse and interactive exhibits. Fields of study range from how fluorescent fish could provide better understanding of human diseases, to a chewing robot that can help us develop dental technology, to how new space missions could help to unlock the history of the universe.

One of the unique features of the exhibition is the opportunity to grill the scientists involved in the research. You can browse their blogs, or listen to some of the exhibitors' audio introductions.

We also provided art and history of science exhibits and several extras, including lunchtime talks, an interactive presentation, and Saturday family workshops.

You can listen to the week's talks online and see photos of the exhibition.

The 2010 Summer Science Exhibition

In late June and early July 2010, the Society, in partnership with the Southbank Centre, will present a huge and splendid celebration of the joy and vitality of science, its importance to society and culture and its role in shaping who we are and who we will become.

The festival will include an enhanced version of the Society’s annual Summer Science Exhibition. Interactive exhibits will permeate across the ground floor of the Southbank Centre and visitors will have the chance to talk to scientists and engineers at the forefront of the UK’s research activities.
